Nigel Kennedy returns to the United States following an 18-year absence to perform exclusively with Maestro Slatkin and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. The program includes Schumann’s Manfred Overture and William Schuman’s third symphony, followed by Kennedy’s original Dedications series.
Leonard Slatkin will be presented with an honorary doctorate from the New England Conservatory in Boston and will be the 2016 commencement speaker at a degree ceremony taking place at the college on Sunday, May 22.
