Leonard Slatkin has released the fifth installment in his Conducting School. This month’s video combines techniques demonstrated in previous lessons to show how the conductor uses both hands to communicate tempo and dynamics to the orchestra simultaneously. It’s like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time—only harder!
