Maestro Slatkin spoke with Susan Whitall of The Detroit News about his family connections to Frank Sinatra, sharing his personal reflections for her article “Remembering Frank Sinatra, ‘The Voice,’ on His Birthday.” Slatkin’s parents, founding members of the Hollywood String Quartet, were friends with Sinatra and were featured on his album Close to You.
