Join the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for what will be one of the most exciting seasons in recent memory! The 2016-17 season, “Gershwin and His Children: The Influence of Popular Culture on Classical Music,” will be a survey of music demonstrating how American culture has influenced composers around the world. In addition to the music of Gershwin, the DSO will perform more than 25 works that fit this theme, both old and new. Season highlights include a three-week winter Mozart festival, three world premieres, and opening weekend with Hilary Hahn and Lang Lang.
