June 21, 2019
On Wednesday, June 19, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra donors, subscribers, musicians and staff gathered in Powell Hall for an onstage dinner and special musical performance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Leonard Slatkin’s debut with the orchestra. Slatkin served as the SLSO’s music director from 1979 to 1996, took the SLSO on dozens of regional, national and international tours, and conducted the SLSO on 70 albums. He also founded the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, which will mark its 50th anniversary in 2020.
